Joint improvisation of four people in the quarantine. Lively stream concert in four separate rooms. Free improvisation/noise/live coding/live patching.
The first event as part of the residency of Michal Cáb, Marek Hlaváč, Tomáš Kajánek and Matěj Smrkovský in the INI Project ‘Sheep Techno and Other Stories’ will be carried in a quarantine mode. The ‘Sheep Techno and Other Stories’ is a series of largely sonic events/stories on a variety of topics.
Michal Cáb devotes himself to theatre music, live coding and plays modular synthesizer; Marek Hlaváč is interested in sound in social environment and the possibilities of public participation, Tomáš Kajánek explores internet contents created by users and plays noise music, Matěj Smrkovský does drawing and spraying.
12th April 20:00 Story No. 2: From the Distance/Music is Obsolete (online stream)
Participative stream concert and manifesto presentation
Second event of the project ‘Sheep Techno and Other Stories’ will evolve in the spirit of certain reminiscence of network enthusiasm of the nineties, updated in the time of general quarantine.
Marek Hlaváč is preparing an internet-participative concert in three parts: ‘Collective Granulation’, ‘Fragile Music No.2 (Distanced Version)’ and ‘Approaching the Inhuman’.
Michal Cáb then will present his manifesto ‘Music is Obsolete’, putting the social aspect of music above its formal side.
27th May 19:00 Sheep techno
A closing opener of quarantine residency of Michal Cáb, Marek Hlaváč, Tomáš Kajánek and Matěj Smrkovský. A sampler of various works accomplished during the time of isolation. In the course of the evening you can enjoy a compromised techno set, noise impro, summer hits and a few more sound performances. You can view a mural and knitted fabrics in cooperation with Z. Ševčíková and B. Orlická. Refreshments provided. ‘Sheep Techno and Other Stories’ is a series of mostly sonic events/stories on different topics, as they emerged gradually during the residency of Michal Cáb, Marek Hlaváč, Tomáš Kajánek and Matěj Smrkovský at the INI Project. Michal Cáb devotes himself to theater music, live coding and playing modular synthesizer, Marek Hlaváč explores sound in social environment and the possibilities of public participation; Tomáš Kajánek examines user-made contents of the Internet and plays noise music, Matěj Smrkovský is a drawer draftsman.
