Tereza Silon
APOTHECA

APOTHECA is derived from Greek apothḗkē as well as Latin apotheca - a name for a storage, warehouse and/or dispensary of (more than) pharmaca. This apotheca stores herbs and energetic essences, sounds and vibrations alongside politicized and holistic discourses about healing and intimacies acting in spite of extractive systems. Through events, the space will become a sanctuary and a space of regeneration, but also a birthing place of new thought patterns and new points of view. A space, where embodied knowledges are not subordinate to the textual ones, but bodies, their health and pleasure are sought and celebrated. A place, where beauty and art/skill are a good medicine and where we are allowed to practice their embodiment in multiple ways.

Tereza Silon works with topics of body and embodiment, sensitizing the public space, queerness, the erotic and an accessibility of pleasure. She questions possibilities of intimacy in extractive structures and explores natural and social ecologies. They work as a performer, dancer, facilitator. She also studies and practices bodywork and herbalisms.

APOTHECA X LOVEAGE

Yama <<>> Niyama

We invite you to explore the first two limbs, yama (abstinences) and niyama (observances), in an open discussion wherein we not only come to understand what the two limbs are, but also how we can understand them in our own contemporary context.

After all, much has changed over the course of 2000 years and it may be difficult or nearly impossible to adhere to these concepts as they were laid out by Patanjali. But this doesn’t mean that these concepts are outdated or unhelpful in our daily lives, it simply means that we need to examine them carefully and weigh the value they may have for us.
A group meditation will follow the discussion. Herbal tea blend for support mixed by Tereza Silon will be offered.

The discussion will be led by Ewelina Vlcek-Chiu, a certified yoga instructor interested in our bodies capabilities to lead us to a sense of inner balance and quiet in a chaotic world. Her practices tend to be a mixture of moments wherein the body is challenged to be still interspersed with dynamic, energizing flows. She is one half of the duo Loveage with Tereza Silon. Loveage combines plant ritual and connection with yoga practice and meditation to create transient communities for everyone and every body.

Ewelina is also a musician, composer and producer. She is known as half of the witch-wave duo ba:zel (www.bazelmusic.com) as well as a solo performer in the experimental pop project Ai fen (www.ai-fen.com). She also works variously in sound design, having created sonic tapestries for film, podcasts, art installations and performances.
